family services coordinator

The Family Services Coordinator oversees the provision of services and support to families served by Families Moving Forward (FMF).  Duties include helping families who are experiencing homelessness achieve their personal goals, graduating families into permanent housing, helping families become more self-sufficient, and helping families strengthen community connections. These outcomes are accomplished through Family Services Coordinator (FSC) engagement in the following: Identifying and focusing on the strengths of each family, developing goals centered around the family’s stated and assessed needs, assisting the family in recognizing all possible supports both formal and informal, helping to enhance parent-child relationships within the family, linking the family with needed resources, encouraging family involvement in programming offered at and by Families Moving Forward, and seeking to empower the family to advocate for itself.  Family Service Coordinators will also collaborate with community partners and other professionals to create supports for the family and to affect changes at a systems level by being mindful of issues that affect the families served by Families Moving Forward and advocating on their behalf.

team associate (part-time)

Team Associates oversee the provision of services and support to families served by Families Moving Forward (FMF) in the evenings and on weekends. Duties include: Work 1:1 and in groups with families in the emergency housing program community and volunteers as directed by Director of Residential and Support Services, Director of Programs and Partnerships or FSCs, Provide role modeling and support for families in residence and on-site volunteers,  Assist Family Services Coordinators and Programs & Partnerships Staff in the facilitation of the evening & weekend programming schedule, Use strengths-based strategies for relationship-building, assessment, inspiration, & direction in individual and group work with families, Provide primary staff coverage during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays at the FMF residential facility, Meet all organizational and governmental reporting and documentation requirements, Remain current on expectations/changes, and Perform other duties as assigned.

americorps vista OPPORTUNITIES

FMF is now seeking applicants for the Volunteer Engagement Associate (VEA) position. These are full time positions working from 12:00pm-8:00pm M-Th and 9:00am-5:00pm on Friday. VISTA interns receive a stipend of about $950/month, and Americorps also offers other benefits. Applications must be submitted through the AmeriCorps Vista online portal.
