The link will be coming out soon, so Happy Bidding! Here is a sneak peek at some of the luxury items available:
Special shout out to Hurricane Aqua Sports for the amazing kayak, our friends who have donated stays at their lovely vacation homes/usage of their timeshares, shopping sprees at local retail stores, local artists giving of their talents, and our rotational coordinators hooking us up with gift cards! So many left to thank but these are just a few fine folks we want to shout out!
Aftercare Families THRIVE
What does the "Moving Forward" part of FMF's name look like? Sometimes it does mean making your dreams a reality.
A Beautiful Place to Study
Last month 20 students at FMF received "Homeschooling Kits" including a desk, chair, lamp, clock, headset, and wallpaper backdrop designed by Spoonflower. The designated study space creates a comfortable and academic space for students to continue to learn virtually within their own rooms. Welcome to the Team! We are so excited to introduce our two newest Americorps VISTAs: Naomi Etsehiywot Workforce Development Associate
Naomi is humbled and excited to join the FMF team as the new Workforce Development Associate Vista. She looks forward to connecting the wonderful guests at FMF to employment and educational opportunities and resources. Naomi was born in Florida and grew up in Carolina Beach, NC, but she has not lived in this state since 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Chicago, where she focused on the legacy of the Black Arts Movement and the relationship between radical politics and art. She looks forward to setting down roots in Durham. Outside of work, she likes to study astrology, draw and lay in the sun. Imani Vincent Volunteer Engagement Associate
Imani recently graduated from Elon University with a degree in Public Health and found her way here to Families Moving Forward after a long post-graduate job search. She is a North Carolina native but is new to the Durham area and excited to explore everything it has to offer. She took interest in the position because it emphasized the importance of increasing volunteer engagement and awareness within the local community for our families in the crisis of homelessness. Through her position, she hopes to connect as many community members with volunteer opportunities at FMF while being mindful of COVID-19 restrictions. In her free time, Imani enjoys journaling, doing yoga, and cooking delicious meals she finds on Pinterest.
